Quiligotti is at 'The Hub' of quality flooring

UK Manufacturer Quiligotti has supplied its high quality Terrazzo flooring at The Nottingham Hub, as part of the station’s comprehensive enhancement project. An alliance of Network Rail, East Midlands Trains, Nottingham City Council and Taylor Woodrow, The Hub is designed to increase capacity, improve performance and integrate transport options serving the city.

Working closely with architects Pascall + Watson, Quiligotti developed bespoke tiles for the project in contrasting light and dark grey shades. By adding a ‘Red Verona’ marble chipping, they achieved the best possible finish to complement the red brickwork of the Grade II listed porte-cochère, which dates back to 1903. Commissioned by main contractor Vinci Construction, the installation of 2,000 m2 of Quiligotti Terrazzo tiles was carried out by specialist flooring company DMC Contracts.Pascall + Watson liaised with English Heritage throughout, ensuring the flooring not only had an appropriate finish to suit the original architecture but to also ensure that the Quiligotti Terrazzo specified met with all the SRV & LRV regulations of the station. Hard wearing and easy to maintain, Terrazzo has all the properties needed to stand up to the extreme demands of a mass transit station like The Hub, where the annual footfall is around 6 million and expected to rise.

With an industry reputation for excellent service, products and technical support, Quiligotti Terrazzo has been specified for a number of the major mainline and underground stations throughout London and the UK. They recently supplied the Haymarket Station Edinburgh (IDP Architects, Glasgow) for Network Rail and were awarded the Manchester Victoria Station (Architects BDP Manchester) flooring project. Quiligotti technical support teams are also currently working closely with designers and contractors at various Crossrail sites across the Capital.
